The main functions of the proportional relief valve are as follows.
1. Constant pressure relief function: In the metering pump throttling regulation system, the metering pump provides a constant flow. When the system pressure increases, the flow demand will decrease. At this time, the relief valve opens to allow the excess flow to overflow back to the oil tank, ensuring that the inlet pressure of the relief valve, that is, the pump outlet pressure is constant (the valve port is often opened with pressure fluctuations).
2. Pressure stabilization function: The proportional relief valve is connected in series to the return oil line, the relief valve generates back pressure, and the stability of the moving parts is increased.
3. System unloading function: The solenoid valve with a small overflow flow is connected in series to the remote control port of the proportional relief valve. When the electromagnet is energized, the remote control port of the relief valve is connected to the oil tank, and the hydraulic pump is unloaded at this time. The relief valve is used as an unloading valve at this time.
4. Safety protection function: When the hydraulic system is working normally, the valve is closed. Only when the load exceeds the specified limit (the system pressure exceeds the set pressure) will the overflow be opened for overload protection so that the system pressure no longer increases (usually the set pressure of the overflow valve is 10% to 20% higher than the system's maximum working pressure).
The full name of the proportional valve is the electro-hydraulic proportional valve. It is a hydraulic valve that converts the input electrical signal into force or displacement in proportion, thereby continuously controlling parameters such as pressure and flow. The proportional valve consists of two parts: a DC proportional solenoid and a hydraulic valve. The hydraulic valve part is not much different from the general hydraulic valve, but the DC proportional solenoid is different from the solenoid used in the general solenoid valve. The use of the proportional solenoid can obtain the displacement output and suction output proportional to the given current. Proportional valves can be divided into three categories according to their control parameters: proportional pressure valves, proportional flow valves, and proportional directional valves.
The safety relief valve plays a safety protection role in the system. When the system pressure exceeds the specified value, the safety valve opens and discharges part of the gas in the system into the atmosphere, so that the system pressure does not exceed the allowable value, thereby ensuring that the system does not cause accidents due to excessive pressure.
